Happy VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND –and beyond!

It’s official. Summer is here. The calendar even says so.

There is a whole lot going on in the Haliburton Highlands including activities in the farther away reaches of the Highlands that I’ve yet to but plan to explore.

I’m so exited that we’ll be at the cottage for part of this time period. I’m really okay with the slightly higher temperatures as it would be nice if the lake warmed up sooner than later.

I’ve not yet checked out the music scene at the Dominion Hotel in Minden but it’s on my list of summer fun time activities. I’m very carefully planning to be sure and partake of the many fun things that somehow I’ve missed out on thus far whilst staying on Maple Lake  as I’ll be there both this spring and summer. If you are in the Minden area this weekend, check this duo out!

From charitable events with an emphasis on support of communities in the Highlands, to a chance to meet real-time Iditarod adventurer Hank DeBruin to African Film Night and much more, there is always something happening in the Haliburton Highlands that appeals to a diverse range of interests. Speaking of ‘diverse’, that is one word to describe south eastern Ontario weather of late. I snapped some southern Ontario webcam shots today, April 24, which should give you an idea of  conditions in the area right now. Pretty pictures/cold weather.
