Here’s where we left off last American Labor Day weekend when R. and I closed up for the 2014 season at Maple Lake (in photos) in the few breaks between the rain and wind:
The weather was bleak and so was my mood.
How many more of these fog-on-the-lake-sunrise-reflected pics do you wish to see? I’ve deleted many, the point being sans cannabis, I’m an insomniac and so it is not hard to catch the sun coming up from our vantage point on the Lake, which is north. They would be far less spectacular without the lake effect but sunrise on a lake is always pretty, right?
The news of our future is ever-changing. Looks like R may have claimed a week in August for Maple Lake in the course of his boss enquiring if Roger planned to go to the cottage this August. R. has been working insanely long hours–voluntarily, but everyone needs a break. I was sort a of planning a week there in August depending on our moving situation, but since he’s going it’s defo on (as much as anything in ours lives atm, is “defo .”
I’ve completely defocused from work-related stuff–OK 90%, and focused on having lived in this 2-story, tiny place for over 15-years, finding boxes that didn’t get opened from the last move (!) Too much stuff!
I think I’m really learning the value of donation, especially to the very amiable Goodwill down the street, as well as repurposing, recycling and (let’s face it, some stuff is just plain garbage) sorting and tossing. I knew I reach the point of utter loss of sentiment when I threw out my baby book. Really no big deal because I’ve scanned thousands of photos of everyone, fixed almost all of them, enlarged them, framed them, gave them gifts. Digital has changed everything, though. Most sharing of images via family and friends gets filtered–one way or the other through the internet.
