MAPLE LAKE – Priming the Pump – Putting In the Water #algonquinhighlands #maplelake #ontario

Since ours is a summer cottage, we shut off the water and drain the pipes so they don’t freeze as the weather dips below freezing. Our first trip up to Maple Lake Ontario this year was in late May/early June. First thing on the ‘to do’ list was to get the water pump hooked up and functional. This year it went pretty smoothly. In the video, R. is working on getting all the air out of the hose, which runs down to the lake (our water source). Perhaps next year I’ll make this a comprehensive how-to video.

I cannot wait to get back up to the cottage! I’m hoping to catch a good airfare so I can visit with my dad for a few days since our visit is not quite syncing up with R’s. vacation time and the siding job (woo-hoo!). The only downside to going to Maple Lake is getting there. We have 700 miles to cover so it really must be planned out beforehand.
