Haliburton Highlands Weekend Weather Feb 26, 2011
Tonight, Friday, expect a chilly low overnight temperature of minus 8°F with cloudy periods. In this 24-hour period from Friday night to Saturday night, expect 1-2 inches of snowfall.
Saturday morning will be mainly sunny with the temperature edging up to minus 2°F. Variable cloudiness moves in Saturday afternoon with temperatures climbing to 21°F.
Saturday evening, look for light snow and a 19°F temperature. During this period you could see up to 1 inch of snow accumulating.
Light snow continues overnight Saturday with temperatures holding at 19°F and up to 1 inch of snow accumulating.
Haliburton Highlands Weather February 26 - March 4, 2011
Sunday, look for scattered flurries, a high temperature of 32°F and an overnight low of 19°F. Snow accumulation could reach 3 inches.
Monday will be a rainy day with a daytime high of 39°F (feels like 27°F) and an overnight low of 23°F. There should be less than an inch of precipitation accumulation. These are ideal conditions for ice to form so please watch both your footing and icy patches when driving.
Tuesday, expect a few flurries, a high of 27°F (feels like 12°F) and an overnight low of 12°F. There may be 1-2 inches of precipitation accumulation.
Wednesday will be a sunny day! The high will creep up 16°F (feels like 1°F) and the overnight low will be 5°F. There is no precipitation in the forecast.
Thursday, March 3, look for cloudy periods, a daytime high of 19°F and an overnight low of minus 4°F. You could see 2 inches of precipitation accumulation.

For Saturday evening expect variable cloudiness with a temperature of 10°F. Overnight will be clear with the low dropping to minus 2°F.
Sunday morning brings back the variable clouds and a temperature of 0°F. Expected scattered flurries and a high on Sunday of 16°F. Light snow continues into Sunday evening with a temperature of 12°F and precipitation accumulation of close to 1 inch.

The low overnight on Sunday will be 0°F with 1-2 inches of snow accumulation.
Monday–Family Day expect a few flurries, a high of 12°F, and close to 1 inch of precipitation accumulation. The low overnight will be minus 2 °F.
Tuesday will be a sunny day with highs about 12°F and a very chilly low of minus 9°F overnight. There is no precipitation in the forecast.
Wednesday will again be sunny with temperatures a more seasonable 25°F during the day. Overnight on Wednesday expect a low temperature of 0°F. There is no precipitation in the forecast.
Thursday should bring light snow, a high temperature of 27°F and an overnight low of 16°F. Expect close to 2 inches of precipitation to accumulate.
Friday expect scattered flurries, a high of 28 °F and an overnight low of 18°F. There should be less than 1 inch of precipitation accumulation.

Minden Winterfest: Fun Saturday 2.19.11 Activities
There’s plenty of fun in store this Family Day holiday long weekend with Minden’s Winterfest!
On Saturday, enjoy FREE public skating all day at the Outdoor Rink at the Minden Arena as well as Highland Storm Hockey.
Check out the Ice Huts at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, find out about Biodiversity at RD Lawrence Place or have fun with toys and games at the Minden Hills Museum.
Also on Saturday, enjoy live music at the Rockcliffe Hotel!
Minden Winterfest: Sunday Activities
Sunday Winterfest Fun:
The Family fun continues on Sunday, February 20 at the Minden Curling Club with Family Fun Curling beginning at 9 a.m. with instruction and practice, followed by 6-end games at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Call Linda Litwin @ 705-286-2911 to register!
Don’t miss CASC Magnum Ice Racing, part of the Ice Race Series, at the Minden Fairgrounds beginning at 12 noon.
All that activity should make you quite hungry so head on over to the 4th Annual Chili Contest at the Minden Arena between 4-6 p.m.
Cost is just $5 per person to help choose the winner while enjoying live music by Taylor Broderick.
Get ready to watch the Red Hawk Hockey Alumni face off against the Aurora Tigers OJHA at 5:30 p.m. with proceeds benefiting Red Hawk Athletics.
Also featured will be the Minden Figure Skating Between-game show.
At 7:30 p.m., the exciting Dawson’s Game will be featured. Watch the Minden Fire Dept. face off against the Dysart Fire Dept. with proceeds benefiting the very worthy cause, Campbell Family Cancer Research Centre.
Winterfest on Family Monday
Family Day Monday Festivities:
On Family Day Monday, be sure to be get to the Minden Community Centre for a yummy Pancake Breakfast between 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., hosted by the County Fair board.
While at the Community Centre enjoy FREE ALL DAY, mini-putt, Outdoor Skating and Minnow Racing!
Try out Broomball, an all-ages activity, from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m., ‘Shinny’ for ages 11 and under from 10:30a.m. -12 noon, Horse-wagon rides between 11 a.m. -2 p.m. and Old Timers Hockey from 12 – 1 p.m.
Get into a Snow Ball Fight (you read that right!) at 12 p.m., enjoy MOOSE FM Public Skating from 1- 3 p.m., take part in a Wii Shaun White Snowboarding Tournament beginning at 1 p.m. ($2 entry), get ready to do some serious chewing in the Bubble Gum Blowing Contest at 2 p.m., play Shinny if you are between ages 12-18 from 3-4:30 p.m., Zumba at 6 p.m. ($5) and if you still have the energy, join the Roller Derby at 6 p.m. (pre-register or just watch).
All-in-all Minden’s Winterfest in the Haliburton Highlands on Family Day Weekend is about as fun as it gets and as all-inclusive too, with literally something for everyone to enjoy.

Saturday morning brings light snow, with perhaps one inch accumulating and a temperature of 19°F. The temperature remains constant at 19°F through Saturday afternoon as the snow tapers off, yielding to cloudy periods. Saturday evening continues with cloudy periods and a temperature of 12°F. The temperature remains steady at 12°F for the overnight low with scattered flurries.
Sunday morning, expect scattered flurries to continue and a temperature of 19°F. By Sunday afternoon the high temperature will reach 32°F with flurries turning into light snow. The precipitation accumulation should be from 2-3 inches. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 12°F.

On Monday, there will again be scattered flurries with a high temperature of 28°F. There is less than one inch of precipitation accumulation expected with a low overnight temperature will be 14°F.
Tuesday, expect variable cloudiness, a high of 28°F and an overnight low of 7°F. There is no precipitation in the forecast.
Wednesday brings scattered flurries with an accumulation of close to one inch. The high temperature will be 34°F and the low overnight will be 18°F.
Thursday, there will be a few flurries with accumulations of close to 2 inches. The high temperature will be 34°F and the overnight low, 27°F.
Friday, the forecast is for heavy snow with over 10 inches accumulating. The high temperature will be 34°F and the overnight low, 23°F.
